Watching other people being assholes on the internet makes me want to be a better person.
What is so hard about treating other human beings decently? What is so hard about finding the line between being an asshole and not? Bill and Ted put it succinctly: "Be excellent to each other."
Is that too complicated? Is that too hard? Let's lower the bar and make it even easier: be decent to each other. How about that? We could be okay to each other, if that's all we can muster. Even being indifferent would be a step up in many cases. Can we try that, if we can't do any better?
I say this as somebody who has been abominable to other people in the past, and probably will in the future. I'm human... I'm not claiming the mantle of sainthood for myself... but even a sinner knows which way is up, right?
