Monday, August 26th
The Daily Report
So begins Week 2 of my heat-related exile. I'm starting it in pretty good shape. I have a better computer, and I've figured out that an intermittent flakiness in the internet connection wasn't the state of the wi-fi in general but just the spot where the card table I was using as a desk happened to be set up. It was actually not at all an intermittent problem, but I move around so much when I'm working that it seemed like one. It mostly affected me when I was done for the day, because when I'm not working I like to settle in.
As you might imagine, I've been watching the 10 day outlook like a hawk. Right now it looks like they expect this to peak this week and then decline, with temperatures returning to a semblance of reasonable just after Labor Day. Here's hoping. It is nice to be spending more time with my parents before I move out of state, but there are things that are going to need doing.
The State of the Me
I was laying down at 11 last night and awake at 8 this morning, which is pretty good. I'm unexpectedly groggy/foggy this morning. We'll have to see how that goes.
Plans For Today
I wasn't able to update the counter right when it came in, but over the weekend you might have noticed the bonus story bank on MU is at $100, so I'll be doing a bonus story this afternoon. This week, I'm also going to be trying to undertake some different tasks that I would normally do on my desktop computer in general (e-book formatting stuff, mostly). Whether I get to any of that today before digging down for the bonus story depends on how quickly my head clears. I've taken my pills, I have my tea, and there's a shower here, so outlook is favorable.
