The Daily Report

So, that Patreon thing I was looking at yesterday... the phrasing on the funding model is essentially per piece of art, but the daily cartoonist who I learned about it (Zach Weiner of Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal) has the sponsorship defined as "per month of comics". Given that the smallest contribution possible appears to be a dollar, I think that's the sort of model I'd go with... I don't want to give the appearance that $4-5 a month is the smallest amount that can be pledged.

Patreon does appear to require a credit card or debit card--no PayPal option and no electronic transfer/check--but they do have a dropdown box of countries in the billing info so it doesn't appear to be US-only, and I'm pretty sure PayPal also requires a credit/debit card to be attached to an account before they'll allow recurring billing. So using Patreon is not going to squeeze out anyone that PayPal didn't.

I think this is definitely something I'm going to get into. I could even use my Patreon stream to post my drafts/progress reports on chapters.

The State of the Me

I was up late last night with back spasms, but I slept okay once I was able to lay down. I'm awake and moving before 10, and feeling pretty good. I know I'm going to be feeling the missed sleep later on, but knowing that I can work around it. I also received a re-supply on some of my pills thanks to a timely and thoughtful holiday gift.

Plans For Today

Today is day 4 of the writing process, polish & publish I feel like I'm going to throw out about half of what I wrote yesterday because it's not hanging together as well as I'd hoped, but that's not a problem... that's why there's day 4. Having a day to think better of what I've done makes the end result better. When it's a chapter I like, there will still be parts a day letter that I think of that could have been better. When I don't like it, I have a day to think about why and fix it.

I'm going to start the day off with some compilation and commentary, though.
