To be honest, I kind of stopped reading MU and Tribe when you disabled comments. I enjoyed reading what other people thought (and pointing out things I missed). Traversing to the LiveJournal is not really an option.

So, for me at least, readership would grow if you'd enable them again. I do however link to SHN-stories I enjoy every now and then from my Twitter.
