The State of the Me
You know, for the first time in close to a week I woke up this morning full of energy and raring to go.
The Daily Report
First of all, I'm not going to spend a lot of time in my daily status posts belaboring the state of the chapbook project mentioned in the last post. I don't want to people looking for info on that to be confused, or to get my personal money-making endeavors mixed up with that one.
So, on Monday I received an acceptance notice for a poem I sent out in January, and that prompted me to send out a couple more submissions. I got a reply to one of them today. It is my experience that if you hear back about a submission in 24 hours or even a couple of days, it's usually because what you sent just didn't work for the recipient, so when I saw the response in my email, I was already thinking about where to try next.
But it was actually an enthusiastic acceptance. This makes me happy because I love the poem in question, and I'd already tried it a couple of places without luck. I'd had a good feeling that it would be to the tastes of the venue in question, but that's always so subjective, you know?
My poetry score for 2015 is one piece published, two confirmed acceptances, one tentative acceptance, and one held for consideration. Not bad!
Plans For Today
Circumstances resulted in very little writing happening yesterday. That coupled with the exhaustion I've been dealing with since the end of last week leaves me feeling like just kind of sitting back and writing today, so that's basically what I'm going to do.
