I have to admit my first reaction is OMGWUT, my second reaction is "No Ogi Ogas! I rooted for you in the game show even of the decade*! You have betrayed my fandom!"
I'm afraid I can't be terribly surprised, what with all the pop science going on in literature. But how overt they apparently were, and unapologetic. I'm not going to go further in-depth into reading about this train wreck, despite how I'm tempted (must back away from the train wreck, must back away from the train wreck...) but I'm now expecting to hear more about this from other sources of fandom...
* He made it to the finals in 'Grand Slam', a getting-together of some of the most successful game show winners. He finally lost against Ken Jennings.
