Walk Around The Block
Mar. 11th, 2011 06:02 pmToday being a pleasant Spring-ish day, and one of the first weekdays that my housemate has had off since switching to a daytime schedule, we decided to walk around the corner to the Radial Cafe (a bit of a local landmark) for lunch. Unfortunately they're not open in the afternoon, and we were too early for dinner. So, we decided to walk just a little bit further down towards Dodge so we could try Katie's Greek-American Taverna and Restaurant. They closed at two and open again at 4:30. So we decided to walk down the hill to Village Inn, where we were able to get lunch.
By this point we'd walked quite a bit farther than we'd intended. It was mostly downhill, which was good in every regard except that it meant the walk back was all uphill. Also, because we had just been going around the corner, I didn't bring my cane.
The moral of this story is that I have a folding cane for a reason... I need to get in the habit of taking it with me even when I don't think I'll need it.
(But it was nice to get out in the fresh air, even if it was mostly fresh in the sense of "really eager to rip my clothes off".)
