So, I've found that sleeping during the day generally makes me sleep better, but insomnia still sucks when it strikes... and it's all the harder to get back to sleep when it's fairly light out. On cooler days I can black out the window, but I kind of need the ventilation on warmer ones. So I'm off by about four-five hours from where I wanted to be waking and starting my day in earnest today.
I've got a short list of characters for the "Inn" campaign:
kynn's Human Great Weapon(s) Fighter Optima Brand
stormcaller3801's Goliath Warlord/Bard Carrog The [Superlative]
xaddom's Human Predator Druid Janus
imaginedechoes's Warforged Vestige Warlock "Specter" Archimedes Lens
gamingdragon's Deva Tinker Artificer Gallifreya Kasterborous
moofable's Gnome, Ahem, Bravura Warlord Harlan Vulpini
josol's Wilden Seeker Dunbar
luke_licens's Eladrin Storm Sorcerer Toben Brausen
I've got them grouped in three groups: characters that will almost definitely stand on the front line in combat, characters that can stand on the front line in combat, and characters who probably would try to hang back.
I picked characters I thought would be interesting, both for roleplaying and in terms of what's going on in combat. It's not a perfectly balanced group, but it should be a functional one... the high percentage of Leaders means healing can make up for any tactical deficiencies.
I don't know that I will add any more characters to this, but I'm sort of open to the idea of another character or two who would be either fighting on the front lines or skirmishing between short range and melee, like some Rogues and Rangers do. Rogue, Ranger, Barbarian, Monk, another Defender... if you would like to get into the game, those are the kinds of characters I'm most likely to add to the roster at this point. Even if you've already applied with a character or two, feel free to submit another one that fits this kind of niche.
Later on tonight, after I've done some writing and things, I'll make another post with some short instructions for the PCs and some details about how the game'll go. I'll still be mulling any further submissions through the weekend, but the group composition will be finalized Sunday.
