Living and learning.
Sep. 22nd, 2010 02:56 pmSo, as I've been working on Tales of MU this week I've been thinking about how to apply the "Under Construction" concept to my other story projects, particularly those that tend to have shorter updates that theoretically come more frequently. After looking at what's been happening with the Tales of MU draft posts---I end up writing more than I need for a chapter and splitting parts off for future use---I think I have my answer.
Rather than trying to update a post enough times for there to be recognizable progress in a 300-1,000 word draft, I'll make weekly posts for Void Dogs, Tribe, and (eventually) Star Harbor Nights that I'll treat as blank notebooks for both just scribbling out ideas and writing oodles of words, from which the actual updates will be put together. I'll probably start each project's Construction post on different days, so they each have a chance to be on the "front burner". This will actually mesh really well with the way my creative mind works... I need to be able to switch between different projects fairly often, but without some way of prioritizing what I'm doing I get mired down.
This will also let me vastly simplify my previous attempts to use my phone's calendar feature to remind me what I'm working on.
