I'm still getting inquiries...
May. 6th, 2011 04:29 pm...from folks who want to keep getting the newsletter but don't want to or can't set up recurring payments on PayPal. There is an annual "lump sum" option you can use to pay for the newsletter without setting up a monthly sponsorship, at the bottom of the page here. Like most everything else I do, it's choose-your-price, going as low as $10 for the entire year.
News For Today
So, the new chapter of Tales of MU just went up... Mackenzie's lore/history class. I don't think it's too spoilery to mention the gimmick I'm incorporating into it. This class is mostly meant to be a vehicle for worldbuilding background stuff. The idea in the story is that the class chooses what aspects of the world to "investigate", and so to some extent that's going to be guided by readers.
To get the ball rolling I'm starting off with a choice of two topics. I didn't want to leave it incredibly open ended in the beginning for fear of ending up with twenty-seven different things with one or two votes each. For future class discussions I'll try collecting topics of interest in advance and then present a list of them, or something similar.
Personal Assessment
Slept better last night, but I may or may not have been woken up early by an unusual amount of affection from my cat. He normally leaves me alone when I'm asleep, but it seems he climbed up on my pillow pile and started headbutting me, something he's never done before. Since I fell back asleep after that I'm not sure it actually happened... might have been a dream, or a hypnopompic hallucination. In any event, I fell back asleep and slept through the rest of the morning.
Dreams From Last Night
In addition to a possible dream of being headbutted awake by my cat, I also had a dream involving a chimp who had been trained to use sign language despite being fully capable of English.
Plans For Today
Well, my day's kind of topsy turvy because I had a weird morning and then wanted to jump into writing.
