THE DAILY REPORT

Had an exceptionally good day yesterday. As the first day post-"situation", I had thought I might be too burned out to really accomplish anything... but being able to sit comfortably in an empty house with my music on and Just Write proved to be more restful and relaxing than anything else I could have done.

For the second week in a row, I sat down and wrote a story that was in my head. Not sure what I'll do with this one. It's more of a "niche" story, and outside my usual niches. Vore, specifically, in the "swallowing whole" mode. I'm not sure if I like it. If I do anything with it, it'll probably be to post it to a fetish-specific community... but I might also take the basic idea as a jumping point and write it differently.

And of course, not everything I write has to be commercially viable, especially if I'm writing more often. I have a goal of adding ten commercially viable short stories to my e-repertoire in 2012. Anything else is just a bonus.

Today's been off to a bit of a slower start. One of those "get up earlier, take longer to wake up" kind of things, but I'm officially kicking things into gear now.

STATE OF THE ME

Still a little sniffly. I'm thinking it's allergies rather than illness... it keeps going up and down around the freezing point here, and that's always an interesting time.

PLANS FOR TODAY

Despite a really productive day (didn't think to do a word count, but it was over 3,000 words just from the vore story and the flash fic), I did more spitballing than anything on Tales of MU. But that's still a step up from what I had been doing, which was writing most of the chapters in December in the course of a single day. That's doable, and it's good that it's doable, but not sustainable. So I've got quite a bit to do on that today. Not any more than I can do.

But you know, I'm still going to start with an hour of free writing. It's just... freeing. I think it's good for me, and one of those things that falls by the wayside when I feel overwhelmed that then keeps me feeling overwhelmed.

(I'm also trying to keep myself at more than my minimum of two hours of 20/10 writing in a day, and two hours is all it takes for me to rough out a chapter of Tales of MU... I might spend a further hour or two on it, but sprinting is counterproductive at that point.)
