THE DAILY REPORT

So, that sleep thing I've mentioned the past couple of days came up and suckerpunched me today. Once again I was awake fairly early in the morning after having been up fairly late, then crashed hard right after noon until well into the afternoon.

The month might come that my idea to put the first OT story on the 6th works out, but it's not going to be this month. I'm stuck for an idea that really grabs me, and my brain is too full of fog to just start a timer and go.

I did do an hour and a half of light writing this morning before the crash, and am impressed to see that this adds up to being just short of ~2,000 words. So that's something. Creativity waxes and wanes, and it would be a mistake to think I've permanently ascended to a higher level where I can write a standard King in an hour and a half like it's no big thing. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut at the same time... yeah, this is pretty awesome, and if I didn't feel so logy right now I'd whip up an OT in two hours. But feedback pretty reliably indicates that a delay of a day is preferable to whipping up something that's less than my best.

In fact, I think the next adjustment I make to the schedule is going to be to officially state that all dates are +/- 1. Because the schedule is important for keeping me on task and keeping traffic to the site predictable and steady, but the flexibility is also important.

STATE OF THE ME

Still groggy. Hopefully this is a good sign that I'll sleep well tonight.

PLANS FOR THE DAY

I should be posting a new Fantasy In Miniature today, and I think I can still make that happen. Next week I'm going to try to channel some of my free writing into things like flash stories and the beginnings of OTs that I can polish up later.
