This weekend, I started using a web app/game called "Habit RPG"... it's a habit tracker/to-do list that uses the idea of gaining experience and leveling up as an incentive. I think it'll be more helpful than doing to-do lists by hand, because it persists and its reward mechanism is the sort of thing I'm already keyed into. You'll know it's working if my status posts become more frequent.
I didn't get a newsletter out this weekend. The problem is I didn't actually write it. When I'm in Nebraska, I can just sit down and write the bulk of the newsletter on the weekend it goes out. And so when I tell myself "I need to send a newsletter out this weekend", there's no automatic sense that I need to put time aside for that.
The newsletter works best when I'm using it more like a diary and writing bits for it as I go, so I've added it into the "habit" column in my Habit RPG profile. This means it's a recurring task that I want to encourage myself to do more often.
The State of the Me
Doing well.
Plans For Today
Got a lot of writing I want to do, newsletter and otherwise.
