Monday, April 1st
Apr. 1st, 2013 10:13 amThe Daily Report
So, today begins April. I have set an ambitious slate for myself this month, since I'm spending the entire month in one place and have no major plans outside of work. I'll talk more about that as the month goes on, in the interest of not getting ahead of myself.
Today, we come to the next big test for my motivation process. My schedule says I should be writing a new chapter of Tales of MU. I already have tomorrow's chapter written... the one I write today will be meant for Thursday. If I keep up the schedule for the rest of the week, I'll finish the week even further ahead.
My practical goal here is to build up as big a cushion as possible before the heat of summer and its attendant disruptions catch up to me. I have another psychological goal, though, and that's to de-couple the concept of writing a chapter from the concept of posting it.
I've added a daily task to my week, Monday through Friday: Correct Tales of MU. It's been a while since I've done that on a regular basis... it's one of the first things to get knocked out by anxiety since it requires me to look at the comments. What I'll be doing is working backwards, one chapter a day, plus doing whatever's new at the moment.
The State of the Me
Doing okay. Had a good Easter with my family. While temperatures peaked just short of 70 last week, today I woke up to a light dusting of snow. April fools, I guess.
Plans For Today
As with last Friday, the main deal today is to write a chapter of Tales of MU, knowing it's not due for several more day. Smaller tasks include blocking out the next newsletter, MU corrections, posting Wander, and re-reading the last chapter posted of Kin & Distant Relations so I can get started on the next one.
