I feel like the last chapter of Tales of MU had a bad case of plot doldrums... I wrote the chapter before it with the specific intention of moving things along to the meeting with Jamie, and then I found myself unable to write that, and the result is two chapters in a row where nothing much happens. The good thing is that in between them was an Other Tales story that I feel much better about.
It seems like every time I relocate it takes me a couple of weeks to get any kind of traction again... but then I remember that the last time I did this I somewhat mitigated that problem by doing that extended Other Tales, and I think, "Next time I should just do that again."
And then I remember that there won't be a next time... this is the last time I'll be trying to carve out a place to work in this cramped apartment because Jack and Sarah are moving this summer, and the last time I visit them because the next time I come to Maryland it's going to be with a U-Haul.
I still might make a practice of filling the time around travel with one-offs or side stories unconnected to the main plot (something to keep in mind for the move, but that might just end up being a week off situation) but this exact situation isn't going to come up again.
The State of the Me
Doing okay. The apartment is a little more crowded than usual during the day today because Sarah's telecommuting due to flash flood conditions along her normal commute.
Plans For Today
It's a posting day.
