I've got a bunch of running around to do today, including a stop back at my own house. Just a visit, but the end is in sight. The temperatures for next week are supposed to be down pretty sharply, especially the overnight lows.
If the nights are cool, the days don't matter as much. That just limits my options on where in the house I can work. It's annoying and sometimes uncomfortable to not be able to work in my own room when I want to, but I can live with it. If the nights are warm... well, when I moved into the attic, that didn't seem important. I hadn't yet reached the point where I understood my sleep habits and needs enough to understand exactly how much my ability to sleep is tied to temperature, and how much my ability to sleep is tied to my mental/emotional (and physical) well-being.
Besides, at that point, going through a week or two without appreciable amounts of sleep just didn't seem like a big deal. It sucked, but it was also part of life.
Anyway... about ten days ago I made a note along the lines that counting my own sales, this month I was breaking $100 in net. Well, this month is almost over, and my net proceeds from my stuff on Amazon.com alone for the month are now over $100. I can't wait until several months from now when this money is actually in my account, and I hope by then my monthly Amazincome is even higher.
I started this year with the intention of improving on my monthly average of about $10 there, and yeah, I've succeeded, but I've got a ways to go before this is something that I can rely on.
One interesting thing is that in the middle of multiple months of sales that beat my previous average, I had nothing new for Amazon in June it was also the only month since February that was right around the previous levels. Not only was there nothing new being sold, but the old stuff didn't sell the way it did this month or July. Again, I don't have a lot of direct long-term data, but my theory that new things generate sales for old things seems to be on.
The State of the Me
Doing alright. See above.
Plans For Today
See above. I'm going to have a little period of downtime back at my house during which it will likely be too hot to do anything in the attic, but I'm going to try to get some writing done anyway, for the chapter that would go up tomorrow. No idea how that's going to go. My stay here in my parents' house has done wonders for my flexibility in terms of time but I'm not sure how well I'll be able to adjust back to a different (though familiar) space. These things are always hard to predict in advance, so my plans for the week are kind of based on the idea of a middling amount of success. If I can't even get a decent start, my plans for posting a chapter on Saturday might have to be scrapped.
