One of the reasons that my work life is so fractured right now is that I only have so many days to do things that I want or need to do before leaving Omaha, and the heat wave scrambled a lot of my plans to say goodbye to the state that's been my home all of my life and the city that I've lived my entire adult life in. Yesterday I was able to scratch two items off my farewell tour list: the Henry-Doorly Zoo and the Omaha Community Playhouse.
This was the first time I've been to the zoo in years, though I used to make it at least once a year on average. It's the first time I've been there since the new director took over and since the expansion of the zoo's grounds. I'm pretty impressed with the improvements.
Anyway, there wasn't much work done yesterday on either actual work or THE HOLLOWING, but it was important all the same. I've learned I'm going to be home alone this weekend and the days surrounding it, which is going to be helpful in my goal to be done with the packing (except for essentials) coming into next week.
The State of the Me
I got out of the theater so lay last night that I ended up staying up later than I'd have liked, but I slept incredibly well last night.
Plans For Today
I'm going to be working on tomorrow's chapter. It's my hope/intent to be able to bring some current story events to a clear resolution in it, because the future's a little up in the air at the moment.
