It's weird to realize that as of mid this week, October is half gone when I'm still wondering where August and September went. It's been a hectic and harried couple of months.
This is the week that I'm back on the job. It may well take me a while to get back up full operating speed. I have a nice set-up here but I haven't written in weeks and there are still some aspects of my new life that are still sort of falling into place. Also, next week, I'm taking Jack and Sarah to meet my parents for the first time. That's why I'm not going to be resuming a full update schedule until November.
But from that point on, we're looking at pretty clear sailing. I'll be traveling around Christmas, but that's a week trip, not two months, and it'll probably be no skin off anyone's back if I just take the week of Christmas off or do a one-update week, since I'll no about it in advance.
Today's not going to be quite a full work day as I've got some running around that needs doing, but I'm serious about getting back into the saddle again so I'm starting my day by starting the commentary for Book 3 of Tales of MU. I know from experience that nothing gets me into the swing of work faster than that... it's a set of finite tasks that I won't run out of anytime soon, it's progress towards another recurring source of money.
The State of the Me
I've been sleeping really well since I got here, though I haven't had a great schedule in terms of things like pills, eating, et cetera. I'm making a bit of a concerted effort there this week.
I was up at 9:30 this morning having tea, breakfast, and my morning pills.
I have been having a precipitous drop in alertness and energy that comes mid to late afternoon, which I think is a result of cutting back on caffeine after having used it to get through the last few weeks. Hopefully that levels out pretty soon.
Plans For Today
I'm working on commentary and will be writing fiction later, but in terms of goals "get back into the swing of things" is what I'm actually aiming for.
