The Daily Report

Episode 2 of Harper's Folly/Diary of an FPS Employee starts sometime today. Episode 1 will be available as an e-book probably sometime next week, for people who don't like reading in blog format.

Throttling back my work on Adventure Song for a couple of days has led to a bit of a breakthrough when it comes to introducing and organizing the material. I might make a separate post on that later. I will probably also be posting a partial draft of the rules, if not today then this weekend.

There's a week left in February, and we have just $27 to go to meet my funding goal for February on Patreon.

The State of the Me

Having a bit of a slow brain day, though not a bad one.

Plans For Today

Block 1, I've been working on e-book stuff.

Block 2, I'll be working on Adventure Song.

Thinking block, I'll be thinking about the second half of episode 3 of the FPS blog.

Block 3, Tales of MU. Day 2 of a new chapter, begin writing.

...and it's going to be awesome.

Episode 1 now has the title "Knee-Deep In The Dark". I've made a slight edit to one of the entries (Power Trippin') in order to make the title a little more relevant than just being a vintage Doom reference.

The e-book is going to replicate the blog format as much as possible without being obnoxious, but it also has the entries grouped into chapters by week. In between, there are "inspirational" science quotes that relate to the coming week in some fashion (sometimes more thematically than anything else) and memos or quotations from inside Federated Para-Sciences, in order to give a slightly more complete picture than Harper's view provides. They're mostly pretty short because I want to enhance Harper's story rather than detract from it, but as a device, this could allow me to develop some subplots I've been thinking about that don't exactly fit within the narrow viewpoint into the FPS world that Harper provides.

In terms of additional bonus material, I'm also adding some more entries for the days that didn't have any, with the idea being that they were suppressed. When the book is live, I might even put the new entries in but with [REDACTED] as their text, and have it be a link to where the book is.
