Episode 2 of Harper's Folly is now available as a Kindle ebook. (Link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IRJL8MA), joining Episode 1 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ILC58II). It's priced at 99 cents to reflect its shorter length and smaller amount of bonus content.
If I ever do another episode of a similar length again, I think I'm going to bundle the ebook of it with extra bonus content like a story from the viewpoint of another FPS character or something, in order to justify keeping it in the $2.99+ range. I don't mind that Episode 2 is priced where it won't earn much because it didn't take long to write, comparatively, and it bridges two ebooks that will, but I really want to move away from the 99 cent price point on Amazon when I can avoid it.
I went back on the actual FPS Employee Blog and added blank entries where the bonus ones in the first e-book are, with just the subject line and the phrase "***THIS ENTRY HAS BEEN SUPPRESSED AT THE DIRECTION OF THE INTERIM DIRECTOR***" as a link to the book. I'm going to do the same thing with the second e-book's bonus entry now that I have a permanent URL to link to.
According to my best estimate, there are about a hundred people reading this story, and I've sold six copies of the e-book, which is an amazing conversion rate but not an astonishingly high readership. I have some plans to expand that, but some of it's going to have to wait until after WisCon (because it will require money), and in the meantime, nothing beats word of mouth/word of mouse. If you're enjoying the story, please consider telling your friends and/or boosting on your blog. I've added a social sharing plugin to the site to enable easy sharing/tweeting of posts.
The State of the Me
Was up late last night and woke up early this morning, but I think I got enough sleep anyway. I had weird dreams that I was back working at an old job, but an eco-terrorist kept coming in to charge her cell phone on our computers in a way that would turn the computer's power source into a fusion bomb.
Plans For Today
Block 1, I'm working on Harper's Folly. Some of it practical, some of it writing.
Block 2, I'm going to be working on a short story.
Block 3, Tales of MU day 4. I should end today with a finished chapter ready for tomorrow.
