So, I'm having some ongoing issues with my phone. Avoiding any app more complicated than the basic memo pad helps, but I can basically kill the battery with an hour of keyboard use, and it has a 100% crash rate if I happen to slide the keyboard in or out while it's in the process of re-orienting the screen. I had mistakenly remembered the time I was eligible for an upgrade as June, but it turns out it's actually July. This means I've got to hold out for another month.
The only really tricky bit is that I'm traveling for a family wedding in the next week, but even without that, I had become really proficient at writing on my phone again and now that's suddenly not really an option. My next phone is going to be very different, because I've decided to opt for something that can seamlessly integrate with Office over one of the increasingly rare phones with a physical keyboard.
Phone issues are a big part of why I didn't get my May newsletters out... I've just gotten so used to using the phone for all my more introspective writing, because being able to pull it out and just start thinking onto the page is so handy. I also have a huge amount of text for a new book that I wrote on the phone in the days before the issues started... luckily none of it is *stuck* on the phone, because I saved it to my Dropbox. This whole thing just underscores how important seamless cloud integration is when it comes to working on a phone... not only do I lose creative momentum when I have to stop and move things around, but there's the chance of losing something if the device it's on dies on me.
The State of the Me
Doing okay.
Plans For Today
Going to be getting a newsletter together to go out a little bit later in the week, and then working on Tales of MU.
