Jul. 8th, 2014 10:40 amThe Daily Report
Breaking in the new phone continues. So far it is performing well, at least once I made the changes I described in my last blog post.
Pursuant to what I said yesterday about the need to shake up my routine, I think I've figured out where the "leak" is. Remember how I used to do end of day wrap-up posts a lot of the time? That was a Nebraska Thing, because in Nebraska, my work day had kind of a "soft end". There wasn't anything that happened around the time I finished work, so I could take a few minutes to reflect and look back. In Maryland, there's much more of a family living situation here, so around the time I'm wrapping up my work day, it's time to start getting ready for dinner. The actual time crunch is great for keeping the motivation levels up towards the end of the day, but not so great for scorekeeping purposes.
So what I'm going to try to do going forward is make posts throughout the day highlighting my accomplishments as I... accomplish... them. Although I might end up tweeting them to avoid clogging up the blog with a bunch of microposts, especially since my efforts to stay on Twitter in order to keep in touch with people after WisCon have been mixed at best.
The State of the Me
Still a little sore in places.
Plans For Today
I'm mostly spending the morning and early afternoon settling in with the phone, doing random writing and figuring out more productivity hacks for it. The afternoon proper is going to be back on the computer, writing and finishing up the chapter from yesterday.
