Direct money? Probably not so much. Maybe a modest amount for the IP rights.
But it did -beautiful- things for his readership. I know very few people who had heard of Jim Butcher before the television adaptation of his work hit the air, but a lot of people who took to it like fish to water, and jumped right into the print material, even getting into his secondary series, the Codex Alera... and a lot of these people are enduring readers, thus ensuring future sales.
