I tweeted this because I couldn't figure out how to better get the word out, but then I remembered this phone does pretty decent at Livejournal posts. Due to some weather conditions we're having I can't get online right now, so tonigbt's game is canceled. However, it's been two sessions since I gave XP and this game really needs some Utility Powers... so let's say you hit level 2. Considering the hinjinks-to-combat ratio of this campaign it might be worth looking at skill powers and other things that are useful for problem solving.

Ah, I thought it was awfully quiet looking on Skype. My RSS feed is set to track the 'inn campaign' tag so I didn't see this until I checked your journal.

"Jack of all trades" is starting to look like a tempting feet.

Sorry, I thought I had this tagged properly but evidently I messed that up. I might need to get a Livejournal client for my phone... doing it on the web browser works, but it's hard to see everything at once.

That you can update your livejournal at all using your phone impresses me. My telephone is one of those impractical late 20th century models, with a fixed location and no screen.

Speaking of updates, if you're planning on updating Spectre's character sheet, these are the changes for level 2:

(I tried running the character builder in WINE, but it didn't work since it requires the .NET framework)

Revision: Replace the daily power "Vestige of Mount Vaelis" with "Vestige of Thaxter"

Retraining: Replace the feat "Bloodied Boon" with "Vestige Adept"

New Equipment: Bracers of Mighty Striking.

New Feat: Disciplined Talent [Multiclass Psion]. Training in Perception (so Spectre can finally do some proper detecting) and the Force Punch power.

(Some multiclass feats seem to grant general implement proficiency, e.g. the ones in PHB2, and the errata'd wizard multiclass. Others, such as the ones in PHB1 and PHB3, give implement proficiency only for the powers of that particular class. For a moment I thought Spectre had gained staff proficiency, which would work as a weaplement, then I noticed that the psion feat only gives him the proficiency for psion powers. Drat. *sigh* Implement rules are such a mess.)

New Utility: Beguiling Tongue.

(I must admit to being somewhat torn between 'beguiling tongue' and 'legend lore'.)

And that's it. I look forward to when next we play!

The official stance had been that MC'd implements are all meant to only work with their appropriate class, but as of this month the newest revision has simplified things down to the point where if you are proficient in an implement from any source (class, feat, whatever) you can use it for any power that has the implement keyword.

So, in short: yes, you can use staves for Warlock powers.
