Oct. 28th, 2011 11:38 amTHE DAILYish REPORT
Okay, so I haven't been doing these daily. I've been spending a lot less time than usual with my laptop connected to the internet, because the wireless card is flaky and because using it seems to contribute quite a bit to the heat build-up. I'll be back in Omaha in a few weeks and won't be dependent on a laptop again until March, so that gives me some time to put aside what money I can for a new one. Maybe netbooks will even come down a little bit more as tablets continue to catch on. A tablet wouldn't do me any good... I couldn't write on one any faster than I can on my touch-screen phone.
I'll try to keep up the status posts a little bit better, and do more goal-setting. So far I've been doing okay on keeping up my posting schedule, not so great on keeping up a routine. I knew that would happen this month, but I think I could be trying harder on the routine part.
Mid-Stream Course Correction
Okay, so I've talked about modifying the schedule to slightly obviate the end-of-month crunch, and I'm going to do it. Final Tales of MU chapter of the month is still scheduled for the 28th (that's today), K&DR is now moved to the 29th, and the second newsletter of the month is now going to be set for the last day of the month, instead of the 30th (exceptin' February). This just spaces things out a small but appreciable bit more.
I felt conflicted about this because circumstances that makes this necessary this month won't be present in every month, but I need a schedule that works when they are. Please don't take this as a dire sign that I'm rearranging the schedule before finishing one full month of it (this is more directed at myself than anyone in particular). Nothing's being cut from it, or even pushed back more than a day. This month is basically the "shakedown cruise" and I've been testing it under strenuous conditions.
One other possible change I'm considering concerns the Other Tales schedule. But more on that next month. For now, they'll remain on the 7th, 14th, and 21st of the month.
STATE OF THE ME
Pretty good, actully.
PLANS FOR TODAY
Got a chapter to finish. I don't have much of a start on it (story of my life, the second half of this month) and most of that's fragments on my phone. Again, it may end up going up later than the typical 7ish posting time because of this (though I don't think I've yet actually needed to do that.)
