The Daily Report

It's now two weeks until I'm actually in Maryland. This week is going to be less frantic than last week was, because of how frantic last week was... my goal is for next week, my last one here, to be sedate by comparison to both. Of course, this gives me a rather large area to fall back into.

In non-moving-related news, I was given a great idea over the weekend to cut the clutter and confusion on my e-book store: bundle formats together. Advangages:

  • There's only a single entry for each book/story.
  • People who aren't sure which format they need can buy first and then figure it out.
  • People who want to read it in multiple places don't need a conversion program.

The only real con is potentially missing out on a little bit of money if someone wants two formats and doesn't know how to convert it themselves, but I've been saying all along that I support the consumer's right to view it in whatever format they need to and that I'd rather provide a compatible format from the beginning... and honestly, I think I'm going to lose more sales from making people wade through the format listings than from putting them together.

This isn't going to be much work at all, but I'm going to be doing it amidst THE HOLLOWING and also normal work stuff, so it'll kind of happen at its own pace. People who have previously bought a format that's now bundled will get a download link in their email with the bundled version, when it's available.

The State of the Me

I slept poorly last night. It could be random insomnia, but I'm going to guess the lesson is that just because green tea has been decaffeinated doesn't mean it's a good idea to drink two or three cups of it after 10:30 at night.

Plans For Today

As soon as I'm done with this status post, I'm going to begin fixing up the e-book store. THE HOLLOWING for today is mostly going to consist of laundry and packing clothes. I've also got a bonus story for Tales of MU that I'm going to work to finish and post.

Okay, I have switched the Tales of MU books in my e-book store to be a zip file with the currently available formats. I also added a link for the Omnibus II's Amazon listing, which apparently hadn't been there. Both August and this month have been so completely disrupted by circumstances that I completely neglected to put a permanent link up for it when it went live.

Considering how little I've been doing to get behind the e-books and push this month, I'm kind of surprised to note that sales have been decent. My quick estimate for this month's net on Amazon so far is around $60, and that's just U.S.... the U.S. sales are most of the sales, but I think there's been close to $20 on the international sites.
