I keep wanting to type "August" up there... I feel like I just missed most of August and a huge chunk of September, too. This is what happens when I can't keep up a routine: time just slips away completely.
Yesterday I decided that I'm going to take next week off from writing, rather than trying to do everything at once. I think I'll get more done, writing-wise and packing/cleaning wise, if I can focus more.
I have no idea... absolutely no idea... what the week after next (my first one in Maryland) is going to be like, how quickly I'll be able to get settled in, get my work space established, get reliable internet throughout the house, etc. None. I think it's probably best to just plan for October to be a light month, especially since the last week of the month we're doing a family get together thing so my parents can meet Jack and Sarah. Ideally I'll still be posting something once a week, but... no idea. The timeline for my move has been fixed by outside events, but at this point it's possible I'll be moving into the house before anyone else is ready/able to.
Ages and ages ago I made a tentative plan to take a short break from regular MU updating about once a season/quarter, just to have time to map things out and make sure my head's on straight. I've never really done this intentionally, but when it happens that there's a break--even for things like the olden times side story--the main story benefits. So I'm going to try to use the break for good.
The State of the Me
Doing okay. Yesterday kind of sucked, between having had insomnia the day before and the temperature topping off at 80... seems we're not quite done with the 80 degree weather yet. Thursday and Friday are supposed to be warmer.
Plans For Today
I'm going to finish the Alea/Kegan chapter I've been circling around.
