So, I've now been living in Maryland for about two months. There are two things I haven't really been doing since I got here: setting an alarm in the morning, and getting out of bed before 10. (At least, with the exception of days when I have to be somewhere... last week, when we were clearing out the apartment, I was up by 7 or 8 most days.)
This habit grew out of the fact that 10 in the morning is the time that I opened the window shades the first few mornings that we were here, which led to my cat making sure I was up by then because that's the time the window shades are supposed to be opened.
This has a pretty big impact on the rest of my day. I don't have much in the way of a solid morning routine, which tends to help me wake up faster in the morning and get my brain into gear, and then it's often 11 or 12 by the time I'm actually going.
I thought about this today as I was thinking about getting up and wondering what time it is, so I didn't really implement much of a change yet beyond getting up slightly before ten. I think I'm going to set an alarm for tomorrow, though. If I'm getting in gear earlier next week, I'll have an easier time getting more done.
The State of the Me
Feeling good. That throat irritation yesterday was just irritation, evidently.
Plans For Today
Today is day 3 of the MU writing cycle.
