News For Today
My housemate is so embarrassed by my map-scribbles that she's offered to redraw and color what I come up with in response to the micro-incentive I posted yesterday. So you'll not only get my renderings of the relative positions and approximate shapes of a lot of stuff, you'll get something that hopefully hurts less to look at. :P
If you want to give The Gift of the Bad Guy a boost but you don't have a Kindle and/or you've already purchased another format, please consider "liking" its Amazon page (button near the top) or... in the event that you have read and enjoyed it... give it a review. It's got one five-star review currently, and as that shows you don't have to write your own novella to make your mark. You don't have to have read the Amazon Kindle edition specifically to leave a review... it's the same text as the other editions, after all. This is just a tiny thing you can do that will help boost sales in the long run.
In personal-touching-on-business news, I think the main lesson from yesterday is that I need to better internalize the Artist/Marketer divide. Market-brain can understand that only pleasing 9X% of the audience with a story is not a personal failing, and neither is an individual reader failing to understand the meaning of Mackenzie's multiple declarations of not keeping a journal. Writer-brain doesn't. I'm good at compartmentalizing; I should be able to handle this.
Personal Assessment
Knees are in bad shape today. I slept okay, but got tobed floor late last night. Both of those things are pretty much directly a result of my mood yesterday.
Plans For Today
1. Don't look at comments on anything anywhere on the internet.
2. Write and post chapter 15 of Tales of MU.
3. Write the MU blog post for the micro-incentive.
4. Process the GOTBG AA order(s? Might be two.) that came in in the past week.
