Tweaking Out
Jun. 28th, 2011 06:52 pmFor some reason when I'm in Hagerstown I can't seem to resist the urge to tune-up and troubleshoot the desktop PC... this may be because so many times I've been here, it's needed some tech support, but even when there are no major issues I feel the need to tinker, which gives me an odd sort of disappointment when I go to check something and realize it's already been done (probably by me at an earlier date). Since they're currently running Sims 3 on a system that just meets the minimum requirements, we've done pretty much all the run-of-the-mill performance tweaks there are.
I did manage to get rid of an error message that the Sims 3 launcher had been popping up with most of the time the game was opened (it was actually an error from the EA Download Manager, it turns out), which gave me a little tiny feeling of victory. I don't actually play Sims, but watching that error pop up again and again had been getting to me.
