News For Today
Here's today's tip for myself: if you're going to write out your goals for the month at the start of the month, go back and look at them every once in a while. Like today I went back to see when I'd planned on having K&DR #1 done and saw that I'd said the 7th.
Whoops.
My second reaction: what was I thinking when I wrote that? It was already Friday the 2nd at taht point. I can only imagine that it was because I was feeling guilty about another month gone by, and so wanted to have it done in the first week of this month. But I'll feel far less guilty in the long run over doing it right.
So my revised plan for K&DR is to work on it once a week and finish it in the last week of the month. That's not just my plan for this week, it's my concrete plan for how to handle it every month.
I've also looked back to make a list of the Other Tales I still have yet to write. I generally recollected the characters involved but I couldn't remember more specifics... it's kind of weird to look back at how the ones from the spring fundraiser were mostly summer vacation themed, which would have been really timely and thematic if I'd written them over the course of the summer, as had been the plan.
And now I'm realizing how it might have been easier to write a bunch of lighthearted stand-alone things when I didn't have the spoons to keep the main storyline moving. I'll have to remember that for the future. By which I mean I should write it down somewhere that I'll look if I get stuck or derailed by circumstances that badly again.
In the meantime, I do have something of an idea of what to do with those summer vacation stories.
State of the Me
I did sleep last night, though I got a late start on it. Arms are doing better since I identified the behavior that was causing the pain. I have a feeling I should take it easy on the computering this weekend, though, since it always seems to involve a certain amount of lifting my mouse arm and reaching.
Plans For Today
Rest. Probably read. I'll be reviewing more DC Comics (starting with Detective Comics) next week.
