News For Today
Better ways of doing things, part two.
I'm really bad about answering reader email, except when I'm not. Which is to say that I answer it in bursts. Often in between the bursts I'll get an email and think, "This is important, I should answer it." and mark it with a star or something, and then... nothing. If I don't answer immediately, it's out of sight, out of mind.
Why don't I answer immediately?
Because Gmail doesn't let me sign into two accounts at once. I have my front-facing public email address forwarding copies to my private one so I don't have to remember to sign out, sign in, and check it to see if anybody's written me, but I still have to do that in order to respond without giving everyone my private address.
So, the better way: turn on POP access and set up a mail client for my "work" email. I'll leave it in Gmail, too, and forwarding to my private box so I'm not missing anything if I'm using a different computer. I'll be setting this up today because the newsletter that goes out tonight is fairly heavy on the feedback-soliciting.
State of the Me
I got textbook sleep last night: down just before midnight, woke up a bit before 8. It was nice, and fairly rare. Very welcome. My days have been badly abbreviated of late.
My left knee's been acting up the past few days. It feels fine when I get up... it feels fine now... but after I've been up and about for a while it feels like I've spent the whole day running it into things.
Plans For Today
Writing and editing on K&DR, putting together and putting out the newsletter, the email thing.

I use the different browser trick when I want to see a page the way that someone not signed in would see it, without having to sign myself out first. I usually use Firefox and so I just grab IE those few times I want a different browser, but you may want to juggle Chrome and Firefox if you are likely to use two more frequently.
