News For Today
Today is Other Tales day, and I'm excited to announce that I have a guest story from Rhysling-nominated genre poet
popelizbet that'll be going up around 7. She has been reading Tales of MU since it was a livejournal, and she's not just a fan, she's a good friend. Elizabeth is a student of your earth laws, and this story grew out of her interest and fascination with the alternate universe legal system of Tales of MU.
She's been working on this for a while, and she happened to finish it at a pretty handy time for me... the chapter de-tangling I had to do and my email problem and the newsletter issue all took up brainspace in a way that cut into my writing, and getting my own OT ready for today is the biggest thing that suffered. I probably could have made one by the deadline if I hadn't known that this story was available, but the results likely wouldn't be as good as they could be. Next week's will be a fun one from me, which will fulfill a previous incentive and put two well-liked characters face-to-face.
State of the Me
Well, I'm awake at 9 in the morning and it's not because I was up all night, so that's something.
Dreams From Last Night
I was writing some kind of scholarly paper about Mary Had A little Lamb and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, trying to establish that the melodies of both had been corrupted when they were first written down.
Plans For Today
I want to have the bulk of chapter 36 done today. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day for me, though I do have enough time set aside for writing... but I want to cultivate the habit of getting as much done by day 3 of the cycle as possible. The other absolutely essential tasks of the day are the newsletter archive, and posting the guest story.
