The goal was surpassed while I was asleep last night, so I've cleared the fundraising notices off the site. I'll be dusting off the Formspring and linking it to the site tomorrow, since today I have some heavy writing chores and "when I wake up Monday" was the final deadline on this.
I also moved the big ads up a little bit on the page, so they're closer to the end of the story than to the comments... just as a way of providing a little bit more value to those advertisers. I'm actually considering dropping them, or making them smaller. Every once in a while they spike up to about a dollar per day, but most of the time the individual small ads at the top outperform the two big ads together. "Every little bit helps", but that much screen real estate being given over for pennies a day doesn't seem efficient. The cost in customers turned off by it might be too great.
State of the Me
I'm pretty sore today, due to a lot of physical exercise yesterday. My throat is improving. I think perhaps I'm adjusting to Maryland... there might be an element of "shock" involved in my allergies.
Plans For Today
I spent more time than I'd planned on figuring out which novella project to develop, which meant that I have much less writing done for today's chapter of Tales of MU than I have ever yet had at the end of a cycle since I started it, nothing more than a bare beginning. This is going to be an important test for the schedule. At this point I'm 75% confident of my ability to pull it off.
