The weekend that pretty much wasn't.
Dec. 11th, 2011 08:09 pmSo, I didn't get a lot accomplished this weekend... I've been having sleepy, brain-deadish days. A little bit ago I decided to do an hour of writing anyway, so I pulled out my phone (which I use for a timer) and stared at it for about five minutes before opening up the GDocs app, and then wondered why I was doing it.
Then I realized that I never took my brain-wake-up pills today, which helps explain things. It's a bit late for them if I want to sleep at all normally tonight, especially considering that I've been napping off and on all day. I suspect a good solid night's sleep is exactly what I need, as it's only been this weekend that I've had my full load of blankets on. Even knowing intellectually that I sleep best under ~20+ pounds of blankets, it's hard to hold in my mind just how different the experience is when I haven't been doing so. In the coming year I seriously need to make getting a weighted blanket one of my top priorities.
It's not just the difference between an okay sleep and a decent sleep. It's the difference between being able to go to sleep and having to fall asleep... if you don't understand how those two things are differ, imagine the difference between being able to go somewhere under your own power and having to wait for someone else to come and give you a ride, if they are around and feel like it.
So, anyway... I'm going to go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight, though not early-early, and then get up tomorrow and have a productive day. For the rest of the week my house is down one person, so I'll have more time to myself than usual. Should be a good week.
