Dec. 23rd, 2011 10:31 amTHE DAILY REPORT
I've started the auction thread for the January site sponsorship. The timing here was tricky. I felt like if I did it around the middle of the month like I'd planned, the end of it would run into people's holiday plans (possibly including mine), but waiting too long would result in it running into New Year's. I almost did it this past Wednesday, but I decided Friday to Friday seemed like a better fit. Anyway, this way the holidays will be at the start and then there's a clear run of weekdays.
I am serious about this no movies thing, by the way. I see people lining up to boycott the registrar/hosting company GoDaddy for voicing support of the bill, but what about the companies that birthed it? It's not that hard to boycott a hosting service provider because they are in essence selling us a parity service... it's not like GoDaddy is the only place to get the freshest internets or the finest IP addresses, right? Entertainment is a different matter. Watching a given movie is not the only way to be entertained, but it's the only way to see that movie. So while I support the boycott of any SOPA supporters, I worry that people are going to get too hung up on swiping at the low-hanging fruit to little ultimate effect.
STATE OF THE ME
Doing okay. Light case of sniffles.
PLANS FOR TODAY
Primarily holiday related.
