alexandraerinSo, with both my rent and my control over my living/working conditions going down, I've decided to suspend the site sponsorship auction idea for the time being. The money it's bringing in isn't anything I'd turn my nose up, but the extra inflexibility I take on with it is going to be an issue now.
I mean, the idea is that when I accept a sponsor for the month, I'm making a personal commitment to this one person that there will be 12 updates to the site during their month. This wasn't a bug, this was a feature. This was actually one of my primary motivations.
But right now so many things feel like they're up in the air that I don't feel comfortable taking on that commitment. I'm not saying I'm going to start blowing deadlines left and right. This is about psychological benefits that make my writing easier. If I otherwise felt pretty secure, rigidity would help. Until I get a feel for what my changed situation is going to be like in practical terms, I need to feel loose.
