Jul. 30th, 2012 06:01 pmThe Daily Report and State of the Me and (Bygone) Plans For The Day
Last night I woke up at like two in the morning with a case of "brain won't shut up". When this keeps me awake, I tend to go through second and third winds and don't actually feel tired until much later... when it wakes me up, I tend to have the groggy, interrupted-snooze feeling that happens when a snooze gets interrupted. So it wasn't even productive insomnia. I think it probably had something to do with the wonky sleep schedule (or lack thereof) I had the rest of the weekend, due to playing catch up. So I've spent a lot more of today asleep or in the long process of waking up than I expected to.
I did succeed at posting a Fantasy In Miniature story, like I've been meaning to do for about a week. I did some organizing of the archive of unpublished FIM stories, got them labeled so I can find unpublished and unfinished ones more quickly and easily.
I did not succeed at finishing and posting the Tales of MU chapter for today. The insomnia thing is the biggest factor there, but really, I think the main thing is that I made the mistake of thinking "I will basically get this chapter done in a day." That's something that happens sometimes, but I really should know better than to count on it.
Dreams From This Morning
Maaaan, I had this long and involved dream where I was part of a group of post-apocalyptic survivors who were trying to fortify a hilltop against both zombies and a gang of uninfected marauders but we got about halfway done building the fort when everybody else got overcome with ennui and fatalism and were just like "what's the point" and I was trying to get someone to at least help me nail some boards into place or something when I became aware that most of the fort was actually couch cushions and blankets and the only permanent structure was a chainlink fence. Like a normal kind around a suburban yard, not the tall kind with razor wire at the top.
Then I woke up.
