The Daily Report
I'm pretty happy with my progress on my goals yesterday. I think breaking the monthly goals up into two was a very good idea, especially with the larger projects like book formatting. They just feel more manageable this way.
I've tried doing things weekly before, but there's just too much randomness from day to day in how much really productive time I have.
I have an idea that I'm surprised I haven't thought of before for doing some kinds of work (the less creative kind, in particular). Back when I was employed as a data entry technician, I would listen to audiobooks or to the audio track from movies while I worked. I can't do this sort of thing while I'm writing for reasons that should be fairly obvious, but when doing the kind of work I find to be less engaging, this transformed the activity... the work receded to the background and became something that kept my hands busy while in reality I was doing something that I liked. Most of the data files I used for this are on an MP3 player that's now almost a decade old and doesn't hold a charge any more, so it's going to take some finagling to get set up for this, but it could help me plow through some things.
The State of The Me
Sleep schedule repair continues. I've been getting up around 10:00 a.m. and then today it only took me an hour and a half to be awake enough to start writing this.
My caffeine intake being so low compared to its historical highs is a factor here... I can't drink enough to jump-start my day without getting really wired and crashing hard. But the overall benefits to my sleep cycle outweigh that.
If we had a shower things would be a little bit better, as nothing wakes me up like a shower. Baths are a lot less certain... sometimes a bath wakes me up, sometimes it puts me to sleep.
Plans For Today
Even numbered-date, so I have a FIM to post. I need to do writing on the next chapter of Tales of MU and more FIM writing, since I'm burning through stories now. I'm going to spend some time on the AWW rules draft, as well.
