Today I uninstalled the Google Drive program--the one that makes a folder on a local computer and syncs it somewhat haphazardly with the files on the cloud--from my computers, because otherwise my need to poke at a problem until it's fixed would keep flaring up. Also, I've had some circumstantial evidence that its presence was creating conflicts with the syncing of files in the in-browser Docs program... that's troubling both for the fact that it could lead to me losing work, and in the sense that I feel compelled to troubleshoot it and pin down when and how it happens when I don't really need to since I'm not using the program.
So, it's gone. I'd thought I'd keep it around in case I have anything huge I need to transfer (like a music library) that won't fit into Dropbox's free account, but it's just gone. I have a portable hard drive, I have FTP space. A giant sync folder would be more convenient than either of those things, but I don't need that level of convenience for something I might have to use two or three times a year at the very very utmost.
It ate a little time and energy, but not much, especially since I caught the impulse to poke and prod early on.
The State of the Me
Kind of... up and down. Mostly physical stuff, mostly minor stuff. Just achy.
Plans For Today
Already done. Just didn't want to let the day pass me by without a status post.
