So... it seems like it takes a lot more effort to update my bloggy stuff when I'm in Maryland. It's not necessarily a matter of time, so much as it is a matter of needs and thresholds. I'm not a very social person by nature. When I'm not here, doing my semi-daily blogging helps fulfill the need for communication and human contact. When I am here, that need is taken care of and then some, leaving me at best with little impulse to blog and at worst with no energy for it.
But I do need to get a few things out there, and I know that folks out there like to be in the loop, so here's an update post. Not in the usual format... I'm going to make an effort to go back to the daily format next week, but it feels weird to have a daily update post out of the blue.
Last couple of days I had a bit of low-level stomach upset. Bad enough to be distracting and distressing, but nothing, you know... splashy. I think I've got the cause of it squared away.
The Tales of MU e-book project is largely on track. It's been a lot more reflective of a process than I expected, writing the commentary, and I think what I've learned from going over my early days with a magnifying glass is going to improve the modern MU stories for the better. The current book of volume 2, "The Reinvention of Mackenzie Blaise", is winding down (my books wind down more than they wrap up)... I'm thinking of doing a few weeks of side stories after that, for a couple of reasons, one being to give me a chance to wrap my head around a few things before I start pushing Mackenzie off on her next great nonadventure.
That's not definite, though, and I probably won't make up my mind until I get there. One thing I'm figuring out is that I'm a better writer than I am a planner, so I'm trying not to make plans that will get in the way of writing.
