The Daily Report
While things continue to go well, the past two weeks I've been plagued by bouts of low energy and I have to admit that to some degree I've fallen back into my "just focus on updating Tales of MU" mentality... I haven't gotten Wander going again and I've been slower with the newsletter than I like. I'm also a bit behind on some of the things I've meant to be doing this month, like prepping a chapter of Kin and Distant Relations and doing an audio post.
The newsletter I'd meant to send out last weekend and then on Wednesday will be going out this weekend
Part of it is that when I have a bad day, I fall behind in my work processes like making checklists in Habit RPG (which I haven't been doing checklists in long enough for it to be an ingrained habit... possibly I need to put "make today's checklist" in as a daily task.)
I'm still making decent progress on the next Tales of MU ebook commentary and A Wilder World, because those are things that my brain registers as leisure activities... I end up doing them in the odd moments even when my brain's on autopilot.
Things are going well overall. I still expect to have the next MU ebook ready to publish before I leave for Wiscon (and by extension, Maryland), but I've realized today that if I make sure I have the cover art (such as it is) prepped ahead of time, I won't need my desktop computer to finish it. My goal is still to be done before. I've long had the theory that releasing more things on Amazon in general and more of a series in particular will have a "greater than the sum of its parts" effect on sales, which each new addition giving a lift to the others.
My Office subscription officially renewed today, now that my trial months is up... I wish I could afford to pay for a year in advance, because it's a) cheaper and b) I don't have to worry about remembering to leave money in the account for it every month that way, but if I had an extra $100 to spend at a time, I'd put it towards the travel/moving fund. I have become far better at saving money than ever before, but when I think about how much money I've got to put together if I'm going to be able to move this fall I want to scream very quietly. I think
It's still money well spent, though.
The State of the Me
Last night, I hit upon a possible reason for my low energy/low brain days, a change in my sleeping environment that I hadn't been thinking about. I've corrected it, so we'll see how things go the next few days/nights.
Plans For Today
