As mentioned on the Tales of MU website, I'm taking a break from posting stories through Friday in order to have a chance to get a bit ahead, as having the space to sleep on a chapter and come back to it generally improves the quality and gives me leeway when I think something's not quite there yet. The last few regular chapters I posted fall into that category, and I want to make sure the rest of this trip doesn't go that way.
This move will probably put a dent in my fundraising effort, but it really can't be helped. It's the right thing to do. There's still plenty of time to finish the thing out, and right now the most important thing is getting some momentum. There are two ways that you can help with that, one that's free and one that's almost free.
The free one is going to the page (http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/a-moving-plea/x/466204) and clicking on the buttons to like it on Facebook and/or tweet about it. Whether you're doing this as a fan or a friend, I'll appreciate it the same. The other is to donate to the drive, any amount... even as low as a dollar.
A lot of people feel like a dollar's not worth the effort or that the fees will eat it up. But the fees on a campaign are actually the same for fifty one dollar donations as they are for one fifty dollar donations, and there's more people out there with a dollar to spare than people with fifty. Most importantly, one dollar donations are activity, which is the lifeblood of this stuff.
Yesterday I had a conversation about A Wilder World where I explained the new combat system to someone and it seemed to make sense, which is an important thing. I was also able to smooth out one of the remaining areas of unwieldiness. I can't seem to get back into the groove of actually working on the rules here in the apartment (ironic since up until this spring, this is where I've traditionally done most of the work), but progress is being made.
