Jan. 13th, 2014 09:59 amThe Daily Report
Today I woke up with the song from The Muppets in my head: "Everything is great, everything is grand, I've got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand." As omens for the day/week/new year go, I think I could do worse.
I hit my informal funding goal for the month ($100/cycle) on Patreon this weekend, which is nice in that I reached it before the pledges process on Wednesday. The way things stand now, these aren't net gains so much as getting back to the income level I'm used to working with... and then with any luck, building on it. I think that as usual success is going to depend on convincing people who might pledge a $1-$5 that it's worth it to do so.
There's a very real problem in crowdfunding things where if I point out that pledging a dollar for four updates works out to just a quarter per chapter, and instead of making it sound affordable it just ends up sounding pointless, like it could never possibly make a difference. I've even had people who have the impression that smaller contributions cost me money, which isn't true. I still haven't found a better way around that than pointing it out, though.
In other news, the FPS Employee Blog is all queued up and will be updating itself automatically from now through February 20th or so. There's not an update *quite* every day, but most days.
The State of the Me
Everything is perfect, it's falling into place. I can't seem to keep this smile off my face.
Plans For Today
Block 1: Working on roleplaying game stuff.
Block 2: I've got one more book to convert and send to the people who got their e-book packages last week.
Block 3: Write Tales of MU
