...so I want to take a minute to talk about how pleased I am with the last chapter. The writing process went really, and I like the end result. It is also so exactly a perfect example of the sort of story I wanted to tell when I started Tales of MU... well, one of the sorts, since I never meant for MU to be pinned down as one thing.
Scheduling four full days for writing each chapter was a great decision. Posting drafts to my Patreon feed to keep the process on track was a great decision. Having a stable, private, temperature-controlled place where I can work for an entire week without interruption or variation is turning out to be a huge advantage (no surprise there), now that I know how to harness it.
One of the things that was surprisingly satisfying about this was the fact that it didn't start out as a great chapter. Usually, the ones I like the most are the ones that seem to spring into my head fully formed. This one got worked over and worked around a lot more. I think it's a really promising sign for the future that it turned out so well despite what I'd call a shaky start.
I had more I was going to say about my writing plans and the future, back when this was going to be in my status post, but dealing with this morning's technical difficulties has made me miss that train of thought leaving the station.
