Jan. 22nd, 2014 10:30 amThe Daily Report
Well, absolutely no one bit on the offer to post the chapter a little earlier. I don't think this is because I've tapped out the well, because I got a new Patreon sponsor just a day or so before. I think it's a matter that the people reading my DW/LJ are already the most invested. It's possible if I had made this offer attached to the previous chapter of Tales of MU where all the readership could see it, I would have got more of a response... but that would have required knowing with a certainty that today's chapter would have been ready at midnight, a week in advance.
I'm confident in my production schedule (which has weathered a sick day and a snow day in the last week without losing ground), but I'm not "there" yet.
It might also be that posting the update a little bit earlier isn't that big an inducement. So far what seems to be the most likely to attract new sponsors is when I mention specific goodies that I've posted to the locked feed.
On the subject of those goodies, the publicly viewable version of the FPS Employee Blog is still ticking along. There was a three-day gap in the posting schedule due to the weekend, but the story is queued up to run all the way through February 20th or so.
The State of the Me
Doing well. Got a re-supply of my vitamins and an important supplement.
Plans For Today
Let me start by acknowledging that yesterday was almost completely a bust. I was so drained from the cold (I did eventually figure out it was ~48 degrees Fahrenheit by remembering that there's a digital thermometer on my electric kettle) by the time my office got back up to temperature that I accomplished nothing beyond the brainstorming part of my job. Basically, it was a snow day. Even though it probably had something to do with the unprecedented cold temperatures earlier in the month, we went ahead and changed our oil delivery schedule for the rest of the winter so that it won't happen again.
So, Block 1... basically bookkeeping stuff I meant to do yesterday.
Block 2, random writing.
Block 3, start writing the next chapter of Tales of MU, and post the current one at the end of the work day.
