I neglected...
Nov. 17th, 2010 11:01 pm...my rule about mixing technical problem solving and creative work. When I realized there was a website problem and a "real life" bureaucratic thing to be dealt with today, I should have set the day aside for technical problems. I haven't got much writing done... I've got a little bit of working ahead done on Tales of MU but haven't been able to conjure up a beginning to the next chapter... and so I'm spending the remaining hours of the night looking at a few other things that fall into the technical camp.
One of the things I've got lined up for next year is a benefit for sponsors, from the $1 level on up. It's going to take the form of a monthly (e-)newsletter of sorts. Obviously people who don't want it will be able to opt out. It's something I've thought about doing in the past... and have had inquiries/requests for... but I've been leery about charging for content that's necessary to understand what I allege to be a free story, and leery about charging people for content that's not necessary... but I think I can walk the line of giving people added value without taking anything away from the free site. There'll be more on this later.
Hmmm... it's a little late in the day to think of this, but I wonder how using A Wilder World as a bridge between my technically-oriented side and my creative side would work. It's sort of both creative and technical.
Anyway, that's about it for now.
