I can't sleep, so I'm going to be tackling one of the writing tasks on my daily schedule... not the "finish the chapter" one because I shouldn't be doing that while I'm tired, and not the AWW one because that's sort of technical.
Anyway, here's the thought that's going through my head right this second:
No amount of success will necessarily make you feel like you've got the approval you've been lacking. Neither, for that matter, will any amount of approval.

Jan. 31st, 2010 08:59 pmIf you find yourself in a discussion about somebody's "life choices", and you find yourself saying words to the effect of "I'm sorry, but I can't imagine any situation where I would have to ______..." or "...where ______ would seem necessary." or "...______ would seem like a viable option", for any value of _______, then it might be worth considering how much more this statement reflects upon the limits of your own life experience and imagination than it does anything else.
